Follow up on Tam'O Shanters. The waitresses wear costumes. Its Irish Disneyland. The food is amazing though. The prime rib was.... gahh so good. God Bless this cow, I said. And they take care of you there so we threw down a more than generous tip.
Last week I tried Cuban food with Jane and Gina at this restaurant called Versailles. Jane ordered a really simple arroz y pollo dish and it was shockingly yummy. Leave it to the South Americans to make chicken and rice taste good. They also serve plantains (fried bananas) with every meal. I really like them. Some people, like Gina, not so much. She refused to eat them.
Everything each of us ordered was TASTY, so even in taking a risk and ordering something random, you will be very pleased. All it really is, is meat, sodium, and carbs. Can't go wrong.
Over the weekend, what is this, girls night out #3?, Julia, Sunny and I had dinner at Yamatos, the newly renovated place in Westwood. They serve expensive and obscure, raw fish/seafood. We first ordered our respective sushi (Friends. Take note. Tuna + halibut are my favorite). Then we tried the weird expensive stuff. Sea Bream and Black Cod. The portions were the size of my palm!, but nevertheless, they were really really really good. Its best to go in a group of 3 or 4 and share.
Dessert: Green Tea Creme Brule w/ Berries. I want a mini blow torch so I could have creme brule for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Last night, Faith invited me and Deborah over for dinner and we had spring rolls + DYNAMITE (which is a spicy crab/mayo topping that goes over sushi sometimes).
Me: "I'm so excited. I've never had spring rolls before. I don't have Vietnamese friends."
Faith: "You're racist."
Always try new foods with good company.
Quadruple girls night outs have made me jaded. I'm sick of girls.
